Deposit Overview

Red Spring Copper-Silver-Gold Property

Discovered in 1972, the Red Spring property exhibits copper mineralization within interbedded volcanic, volcaniclastic, and sedimentary rocks of the Jurassic age Hazelton Group close to the eastern edge of the Bowser sedimentary basin.

Previous exploration targeted a dolomitic limestone formation carrying finely disseminated silver-rich chalcopyrite, tested by historical diamond drilling in the 1970s by Canadian Superior Exploration Ltd.

Technical Data

Geology, Deposit Types & Mineralization

Regional Geology Setting

Underlain by rocks of the Lower and Lower Middle Jurassic Hazelton Group north of the Squingula River, consisting of subaerial and marine mafic volcanic rocks, epiclastic rocks, conglomerate, sandstone, siltstone, shale, and limestone with steep dips to the south.

Deposit Target Types

Doubleview identifies potential for two main target types: sediment-hosted Cu-Ag disseminations in dolomitic limestone (Kupferschiefer-style) and subaqueous hot spring Au-Ag / Eskay Creek-type polymetallic VMS mineralization.

Mineralization Character

Copper-silver mineralization occurs in a fine-grained limestone over 200m x 300m, intersected to an average depth of 39m in historic drilling. Chalcopyrite, pyrite, and bornite occur with malachite oxidation on surface.
