The Sheslay district of northwest BC is a well-known prolific belt of copper-gold deposits clustered around major granitic plutons such as Kaketsa pluton and Hat stock. Classic and modern geologic ideas suggest that such intrusions generated large volumes of magmatic-hydrothermal fluids that penetrated overlying terrains and formed porphyry Cu-Au deposits. The patterns of geology, mineralization, alteration, magnetic and induced polarization anomalies (as mapped by Utah Mines, 1978, 1979 and Doubleview, 2011-2015), and drill core logs and assays suggest that Hat complex has significant potential to become a large clustered porphyry system. Initial observations indicate that mineralization is strongly controlled by the geometry of the porphyry intrusions, veins and structures. The alteration appears to intensify and veins and copper-gold values increase with depth. The known Lisle zone (currently 500m x 1000m) occurs near the southeastern edge of the Hat complex and suggests a potential to host several similar size mineralized porphyry bodies in Anomaly E, A, C, D and the least explored “Hoey zone”, all of which remain to be investigated.
